I already had the ropes and carabiner (etc) from the JX3 (and from some work I do around the house), so it was a no brainer. The other advantage of the JX3 is that it doubles as a haul pack if you add a few extra pieces of webbing straps. It is certainly more akin to a crossbow or rifle or compact compound, but I use a 60" recurve, which is on the shorter end of things and I have taken some practice shots in the yard. You really need to adjust the bridge height and I prefer to use it in the standing mode, like a more traditional saddle. Shooting the recurve gets a little tricky, but not impossible. The JX3 is the undisputed champion of comfort, no doubt!
